The gap

Delivery drivers on platforms like DoorDash, Uber Driver, and Amazon Flex report that base pay and tips are insufficient to cover fuel, vehicle wear, and time costs, especially for short or long trips. They lack tools to set minimum pay thresholds or get compensated for deadhead miles, leading to unprofitable work. Current apps offer opaque, static pay algorithms that don’t adapt to real-time costs or driver expenses, leaving drivers unable to earn a living wage.

“UBER & UBER EATS SUCK!! The most annoying useless pathetic app out! I honestly pray they go out of business or sell the company. I don't even order from them cause they charge too much but they don't even pay their drivers a decent slavery pay. Total waste of time. About to delete this app. OVER 95% OF ORDERS UNACCEPTABLE DUE TO EXTREMELY LOW PAY. UBER EATS SUCKS!!! 0 STARS! TERRIBLE. Gas prices are WAY too high for these EXTREMELY low paying offers. UBER IS COMPLETE GARBAGE!!”

Delivery payouts are too low to cover gas costs and living expenses

“Last 2 offers $2.05 for 7.8 miles & $8.50 for 17.6 miles, while gas is over $4 a gallon with Platinum status... Haven't dashed since.... How about fair pay ?? ☆☆EDIT☆☆ GAS NOW OVER $5 A GALLON & LOW BALL NO TIP OFFERS STILL APPEAR”

Delivery pay offers are too low relative to mileage and rising gas costs, making work unprofitable
